  • When such exemptions are granted, it dilutes the effectiveness of the legislation. Fortunately these large corporations can afford lobbyists. Once again it seems that full impact of this law will fall squarely on the shoulders of smaller businesses.

  • This will be another waste of money that is intended to pacify union members. What is needed are politicians that will address the trade agreements that put American workers in competition with those earning $0.70 an hour in China. There is no way to compete with that under current agreements.

  • Until politicians and voters realize the significant number of jobs manufacturing creates, we will continue to see unemployment rise. Unfortunately states have little influence over the trade policies that have decimated this country and the dreams of future generations.

  • If we stopped giving North Korea financial aid, they would not be able to afford the phone that they pick up and use to threaten us with. I say cut off all aid to North Korea each time that communist leader opens up his piehole and threats spew out. Eventually he will learn to play nice or starve.

  • The sad part is that once this extension runs out, there will be even more people unemployed and fewer jobs available. I'm not against extending unemployment, but I am against these do-nothing politicians not dealing with the trade issues that caused our manufacturing base to collapse.

  • These politicians will do anything to gather a few extra votes, even if that is aligning themselves with a party they do not fully believe in. All political parties have some good ideas, the real problem is being able to come to the center and work things out.

  • I bet the software engineers had to work hard to create the new graphics for these weathermen to use. Sad to have to forecast tarballs, but that is the reality we are now faced with.

  • So teachers, police and firemen should be exempt from the horrible economy? I don't think so. Many of these taxpayer supported positions include as part of their pay/compensation package over a dozen paid holidays, the best health insurance available and pensions.
